The Committee agreed that a 50% discount would be applied to all those renewing their membership if it expired before January 2nd 2022. This means £12.50 for adults and £10.00 for seniors. The expiry dates for next year will remain the same as this year (or last). All new members will pay the usual rate and expire a year from the date they join.
The Club's finances are in a surprisingly good state in spite of a number of exceptional, rather substantial expenses over the last year. This remarkable outcome is due to the combined efforts of Jos Rush (Hon. Treasurer), Sam Gillam (Bar Manager) and Jan Thomas (Committee Member and Cashier), who have done an exellent job in controllng expenditure, applying furlough measures and obtaining COVID recovery grants. Credit should also be given to Martin Kinch (previous Hon. Treasurer) for steering the Club out of the parlous state it had been in and building up the surplus that has helped so much over the last year.

Stage 3 COVID Regulations (from May 17th)
"Most businesses in all but the highest risk sectors will be able to reopen. In all sectors, COVID-Secure guidance will remain in place and businesses may not cater for groups bigger than the legal limits. Indoor hospitality will reopen - and as in Step 2, venues will not have to serve a substantial meal with alcoholic drinks; nor will there be a curfew. Customers will, however, have to order, eat and drink while seated."
As before, in order to make table service managable, a wine bottle will be blue-tacked to each table. When someone wants serving, they put a flag in the bottle so staff can see. When they have been served the flag gets taken out. (Thanks, Sam, for a novel and simple solution!)
Please see the bottom of this page for the COVID meaures applied in the Club.
Notice from the General Committee
On behalf of the Woodstock Social Club General Committee I would like to inform you of the measures that we propose to take in order that the Club continue to function successfully in 2021. Obviously, the COVID crisis prevents both the 2020 AGM and the first quarter 2021 ballot for Committee Members from taking place.
In place of the AGM and the ballot, we propose the following arrangements:
1] The present Committee should continue to operate on your behalf in 2021 until an EGM or AGM and a ballot can be held.
2] The General Committee will select three new Trustees. Given the responsibility of the Trustees, care will have to be taken in the selection and to ensure their independence from the General Committee. The selection should be ratified by an EGM or AGM, when it is possible to do so. The existing Trustees have been asked if they wish to continue this service to the Club.
Thanks to the furlough scheme, local authority grants and trimming of outgoings, the Club's financial situation is remarkably good and the positive balance is holding steady. However, the longer term consequences of the COVID crisis are difficult to foresee and so it is essential that the Trustees be responsive to whatever is needed for the Club's eventual return to normal business.

Measures for Reopening of the Woodstock Social Club
The following measures will be in place for the opening:
Opening will be preceded by a thorough cleaning and disinfection of all open areas of the Club. This will be followed up on a daily basis.
The bar will be screened with transparent plastic.
There will be a queuing system with one point at the bar for ordering and another for collection. All but one of each group will proceed to their table. The orders are then to be taken by the member to their table. Empty glasses will be taken by members to a station by the bar.
Tables and chairs will be placed in marked areas, at least 2 metres apart.
Social distancing will be aided while queuing by signs on the floor.
In light of the ban on singing or chanting in bars, the football cannot be shown. However, other events, such as grand prix, will be.
Various hygiene measures will be taken for the protection of the staff, including the wearing of disposable gloves and changing of clothes before and after work.
The dart board can be used if wiped down before and after use. Members must provide their own darts.
The machines must be wiped down.
Only one person at a time will be allowed in the toilets. Signs will be put up to remind members of this rule. The toilets will be disinfected every day.
Four hand sanitizers will be available.
All beer mats will be binned at the end of each evening.
As recommended by the government guidelines, one contact name and telephone number will be taken from each table and kept for 21 days.
Although card payment is preferred, cash will be accepted.
Explanatory posters will be put up in the bar area.
